Located 7 kilometres outside the historic town of Stellenbosch in the heart of the Cape Winelands, you will find Zorgvliet Wines: a place of serenity and ultimate beauty.
With a history dating back to 1692, Zorgvliet combines over 300 years of hard work and shared family knowledge. Under the ownership of the van der Merwe family since 2002, it is a family-owned business, with family values.
The warm and welcoming Country Lodge offers guests an opportunity to truly experience the unique personality of the Stellenbosch winelands and with its panoramic views of the mountains, is the ideal location for the wedding of your dreams.

Zorgvliet Operating Hours
Wine Tasting: open Mon to Fri 9am-5pm, Sat 10am-5pm & Sun 11am-5pm.
Restaurant & Picnic Area: open Wed to Sun between Sep-Apr only, 11am-5pm.
During school holidays & public holidays, open daily 11am-5pm.
Other Dining Options: During the winter months and on days when the restaurant & picnic area is closed in summer for events, day visitors can enquire about meals and picnics in the Banghoek Dining Area, which is usually open for Zorgvliet overnight guests. All dining requests are subject to availability and pre-booking is essential for day visitors.

Zorgvliet Wine Tasting
Zorgvliet produce three ranges of wine, from their premium Grand Cuvée, flagship Zorgvliet and everyday Silver Myn range. These include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Sauvignon Blanc, Rosé and red blends.
Wine Tasting is offered in the original Cape Dutch Manor House, which has been meticulously transformed. Dating from 1692, it once again boasts a thatch roof to recapture the romantic facade of years gone by.
Wine Tasting Prices
R30pp for 3 wines, R60pp for 6 wines (Silvermyn and Zorgvliet Ranges), plus R30pp per tasting for Zorgvliet’s two flagship wines.
Zorgvliet Restaurants
Zorgvliet offer a popular restaurant and picturesque picnic area. Guests of all ages can bask in the warm sunshine, inhaling the fresh air of the Banghoek Valley with our vineyards and historic white washed Cape Dutch buildings as a backdrop.
For picnics, just bring a blanket and pick your spot under the shade of Oak trees, or select a table with a view. Pick a basket from the picnic menu or sit down and choose a dish from our gourmet lunch menu and experience a culinary journey that will excite your taste buds. There is ample space for kids to run around and we also have a jungle gym and sand pit.
Menus & Pricing
At our restaurant, we have a changing lunch menu filled with light and heavier items. Previous options have included salads and burgers, grilled meats, fish, desserts, platters to share, plus we have a kids’ menu. Main courses from R130pp.
For picnics, you can choose to either build your own or you can select one of our 7 pre-booked packed options, which include baguettes and preserves, gourmet cheese, charcuterie, meatballs, salads and something sweet. Vegetarian, family sized and child picnic baskets are also available. Priced from R555 for 2 adults, R875 for a family picnic or R135 per child.

For weddings, there can be no better venue if you want to add a touch of magic and style to your big day. Nestled in the Banghoek Valley, you will be amazed at the breathtakingly spectacular views of the Simonsberg Mountains and vineyards. The Estate features a chapel and elegant Oak Room wedding reception venue, and our Country Lodge is just a short walk away. We offer a range of packages including dining experiences – please contact the Estate for more information.
For other types of functions, Zorgvliet offers several venues and styles to choose from, from less-formal end of year braais and relaxing picnics to baby showers and kitchen teas. For more formal occasions such as dinners with dancing, sit down lunches or conferences, we offer buffets, wine pairings, bowl food and set menus at our exquisite Banghoek and Oakroom venues. Zorgvliet Accommodation
Zorgvliet’s warm and welcoming Country Lodge caters for the needs of every individual with exceptional attention to detail. Splendid grandeur and warm hospitality is at the core of your experience and rooms are spacious, comfortable, luxurious and individually decorated with views of the surrounding vineyards and mountains.
The Lodge a private lounge and outdoor swimming pool area. Room options include 2 Standard Doubles and 7 Superior Double Rooms, 2 Two Bedroom Family Units (1 bathroom), 1 Three Bedroom Family Cottage (2 bathrooms), a Loft Room and a Private Suite. From R2730 per room per night including breakfast for 2 adults in a Superior Double Room. All prices based on low season (winter). Please enquire with the estate for prices and availability for Standard Doubles.
