Wildekrans History & Location
Wildekrans Wine Estate is a picturesque 1000 hectare estate tucked away in the beautiful Bot River Valley, just an hour’s drive from Cape Town International Airport and 20 minutes from Hermanus.
What is now an estate that produces international award-winning wines, Wildekrans was originally established as a mixed farming operation. It was soon realised that the cool terroir of this picturesque farm had all the key components to produce grapes of the highest quality expressions.
Set amongst fields of indigenous rhenosterbos (‘Rhinoceros-bush’, a flowering plant) Wildekrans is known for its award-winning wines, olive oils and dining experiences. We also offer country cottages and many outdoor activities for nature lovers and biking/hiking enthusiasts. Come on a journey with us!
Wildekrans Operating Hours
Wine Tasting: open Tue to Sun 10am-4pm.
Restaurant: open Wed to Sun 8am-11am then 12pm-3.30pm. A Friday dinner service is also available – please contact the restaurant for timings and pre-booking is strongly recommended.
Cellar Tours: available Mon to Fri subject to availability (pre-booking essential).
MTB & Walking Trails: open daily. R50pp permit applies, please pay at Reception.
Horse Riding: available on request, please enquire for details and prices (24hrs notice applies).

Wildekrans Wine Tasting
Our celebrated and award-winning wines are incorporated into two main ranges: our signature, premium range known as The Barrel Select Reserve Range, plus our classic Estate Range. We also have a range of olive oils to purchase.
At the intimate Tasting Room, a Wildekrans wine ambassador will guide you through the tasting, discuss our wines and answer your questions. We have both indoor and outdoor seating, with the undercover terrace offering a lovely vantage point to admire the fabulous views of the farm. A cheese or charcuterie board is also available.
Wine Tasting Prices
Choose 3 or 5 wines from our Estate Range for R50pp or R100pp respectively, or 3 wines from our premium Barrel Select Range for R100pp. Tasting fee waived upon purchase of 3 wines or more. Enjoy a Local Cheese Selection for R125 or Charcuterie Board for R190.
Wildekrans Restaurants
Our destination restaurant for a country gourmet experience is a ‘go-to’ for special occasions, beautiful food, and relaxed family dining. Guests may choose to dine on the terrace, which offers a spectacular setting and memorable ambience, or enjoy the beautiful decor inside with a fascinating view of the kitchen and pass. Reservations are strongly recommended.
Menus & Pricing
Our menu showcases a true Overberg food experience of taste-driven signature dishes using fresh seasonal ingredients. Sample menu items include Citrus Cured Sea Bass, Karoo Wagyu Beef, Pancetta Roasted Quail, Wild Mushroom Gnocchi and a selection of desserts. Main courses from R165pp.
Wildekrans Tours & Activities
Wildekrans offer two scheduled Cellar Tours per day, between Mon and Fri. These must be pre-booked, please contact the Estate.
For active visitors, Wildekrans have some beautiful Trails, perfect for mountain-biking, trail running, horse-riding, or scenic birdwatching walks. Ideal for friends and family to explore, you’re then welcome to relax back at our restaurant sampling some excellent food and award-winning wine. The trails require a permit, which can be obtained at Reception, R50pp.
Should you be interested in Horse Riding, we offer guided horse trail rides through the Estate and vineyards, with our passionate guides. All rider experience levels welcome – please contact us for more information, prices from R350 for 1 hour.
For Weddings, Private/Corporate Events, Wildekrans provides an idyllic natural setting for large and small tailormade functions. Surrounded by vineyards, orchards and breathtaking Botrivier vistas, you will find several function and dining venues to choose from, in addition to country cottages which can host up to 38 guests in 9 cottages. All of our functions are catered in-house by our chefs and their team, and we are happy to work with you to provide for all your needs. Please contact us for more information.
Wildekrans Accommodation
Wildekrans’ country accommodation offers breathtaking mountain views, a tranquil atmosphere and is the ideal base for exploring the picturesque Overberg region.
Our 9 luxurious Cottages (8 Two Bedroom and 1 Three Bedroom) are situated between a vineyard and a plum orchard on the banks of the Bot River. Amenities include WIFI, satellite TV, kitchenette and access to a shared pool.
Pricing
