Warwick Wine Estate

In Their Words
Warwick History & Location
Warwick Estate is a premium South African winery in the Stellenbosch region of South Africa and the estate boasts a rich farming history dating back to 1771.
Originally a fruit farm, Warwick only emerged at the forefront of South Africa’s wine scene when Stan and Norma Ratcliffe bought the estate in 1964 and started developing the land with an extensive focus on the classic Bordeaux varieties: Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Through determination and commitment, Norma became one of the Cape’s first female winemakers – and one of its most illustrious wine personalities, whose legacy is immortalised in the Warwick “First Lady” wine range.
In addition to tastings of our award-winning range of wines, Warwick offers guests gourmet picnics and platters in a tranquil, relaxed setting on the lawns or shaded by the trees of our forest courtyard. Our picnic menu revolves around fresh and seasonal ingredients, sourced locally from artisanal suppliers, including a variety of options for vegetarian and vegan visitors.
