Villiera is a family-run winery and wildlife sanctuary in the Stellenbosch region, less than 15 minutes drive from the centre of this historic heritage town. We are a pioneering quality wine company committed to preserving the environment and have been rewarded with membership to the Biodiversity of Wine Initiative. We specialise in Cap Classique and have a strong reputation for Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Cousins Jeff and Simon Grier started the family-owned business in 1983, embarking on an extensive replanting of classic and local varietals. The introduction of hi-tech cellar facilities for the production of still wines (as well as Méthode Cap Classique) combined with a unique wine business philosophy has seen Villiera developing into one of the largest private wineries in the country.

In addition to wine tasting, visitors can explore the onsite 220 hectare Wildlife Sanctuary, established in 2009 in conjunction with our neighbours, The Cape Garden Centre and Wild Clover Farm. Including 12 dams and marsh areas which attract a huge variety of birdlife, over 100,000 indigenous trees have been planted and the Sanctuary is home to a number of mammals including many types of antelope, giraffe, wildebeest and zebra which can be viewed on a 2 hour game drive (pre-booking essential).
