Deux Frères History & Location
Discover our welcoming boutique vineyard in the Simonsberg foothills of the famous Stellenbosch wine route.Built on the values of responsibility, integrity, industry, individuality and uncompromising quality, Deux Frères produces just 3000 cases of world-class reds (including Bordeaux and Rhone blends), a very traditional French-style Blanc de Noir Rosé and a Chenin Blanc.
Deux Frères was founded in 2008 when brothers Retief and Stephan du Toit decided to continue the heritage as a “wine family” left to them by their mother and stepfather, Hester and Marc Wiehe. They bequeathed us the foundation on which Deux Frères is built.
Come and enjoy a relaxed tasting, or stay for longer in our new, exquisitely decorated villa apartments.
Deux Frères Operating Hours
Wine Tasting: open Mon to Fri 10am-5pm & Sat 10am-2pm.
Between May-Aug, Sat by appointment only. Note wine pairing & platters must always be booked in advance.
Cellar Tours: available as per wine tasting hours and depending on the activities in the cellar.

Deux Frères Wine Tasting
Deux Frères Wines offers a personalised tasting experience and should you be interested in a visit to our small cellar, this can be arrange at no extra cost. Our Tasting Room can accommodate just 6 guests, however our outside tasting area hosts an additional 21 guests. Pre-booking is recommended but is essential should you wish to enjoy a food and wine pairing or food platter.
Wine Tasting Prices
The standard tasting of 6 wines costs R70pp.
We also offer a Cheese & Wine Pairing for R90pp (please note a minimum of 3 people are required), or a delicious charcuterie and cheese platter is available for R120pp (minimum 2 people). All pairings and platters must be pre-booked.
Deux Frères Restaurants
There is no full service restaurants at Deux Frères, however the town of Stellenbosch is a mere 15 minutes’ drive away.
Deux Frères Tours & Activities
Guided Cellar Tours are possible with wine tasting – please ask on arrival.
Deux Frères Accommodation
With views across our beautiful garden of rare and endangered plants to the vineyards beyond, our 2 villas offer expansive, tasteful accommodation and the perfect base just outside Stellenbosch. Decorated in serene, tranquil tones and textures, they feature a mix of bespoke and antique furniture and have a large conservatory/sun room and a fireplace for those fresh, winter nights.
The villas share access to a private pool area and a large lawn adjacent to a nature reserve, with active birdlife. Breakfast and afternoon tea with scones are served on your private veranda, evening drinks are served at the pool and spa treatments can be arranged in the comfort of your villa.
Pricing
Villa Zamia costs from R2300 per villa per night, Villa Sclavoi from R2700 per villa per night. Prices include breakfast for 2 and are based on low season (winter). Please check www.dfwines.co.za/accommodation/ for up to date pricing.
